Liverpool are unbeaten at home for 41 consecutive games. They will try to keep this run going on Saturday when Arsenal comes to town.
The Gunners are a decent side and are the only other team together with Liverpool that made a perfect start to the season. However, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to take anything out of this match.
Imperious at Home
Liverpool are on an eight match winning run at home and in all of those matches they have scored two or more goals. Considering that Arsenal’s defence was one of their main problems last season, it is easy to see why Unai Emery is quite worried to be facing Liverpool at this point in time.
Arsenal have made some defensive reinforcements over the summer in Kieran Tierney and David Luiz, but it is still early days to say whether this has mended Arsenal’s lingering defensive problems.
If there is one thing for sure however, it is that Liverpool is the team that you would go for if you want to expose a defence. The trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino can embarrass even the most solid defensive units. One has the feeling that against Arsenal those three are going to have a field day.
Impressive Head-to-Head Record
In addition to being a much better team, Liverpool have also got one more thing going for them and that is history. Arsenal’s last victory at Anfield came way back in 2012 and the last time they drew there was three and a half years ago. Liverpool’s 5:1 win at the turn of last year is also probably still fresh in Arsenal’s memory as much as they would want to forget it.
Liverpool to Win Convincingly
This all brings us to the obvious conclusion that Liverpool are going to win this one and they are going to do it in style. Backing the Reds to triumph at full time comes with decent odds of 1/2. However, if you want something meatier then we suggest backing Liverpool to win in both halves at odds of 5/2 and also to go for the Liverpool – Liverpool betting proposition in the Half Time/Full Time market at odds of 5/4.
Lastly, backing Sadio Mane to score anytime during the match comes with enticing odds of 20/21 and considering how good he has been recently he is definitely worth a punt.
